Snapshot of the Week: The Madhu River

This was taken last year when I visited SriLanka. Located 25km from Hikkaduwa, this river is the second largest wetland habitat in the country. It is a home to over 300 species of aquatic plants and animals. I enjoyed the relaxing cruise as I passed by to a dozens of islets, mangrove tunnels, a fish farm and a cinnamon island, where got the chance to see the production of cinnamon. The Madhu River showcases the rich biodiversity of the island paradise and a truly remarkable place to visit.
